Causes of Delinquency in the Dominican Republic

Delinquency is one of the most common social
problems facing in the Dominican Republic. Delinquency is a concern, especially
given the number of firearms in the hands of people without licenses.
Delinquency in the Dominican Republic has broken all the morally permissible
limits, being the biggest current problem that our country has. There are three main causes that generate
delinquency in the Dominican Republic.
The first cause that generates delinquency in the
Dominican Republic is unemployment. Due to unemployment, young people today are
forced to do whatever it takes to have money to support themselves. Young
people, having no jobs, dedicate themselves to robbery, exposing their lives
and that of other citizens. It should be noted that unemployment forces people
to the path that according to them is easier to get money, but we all know that
it is not.
The second cause of delinquency in the Dominican Republic
is lack of education. When we talk about the lack of education we refer to
academic studies. When the person does not attend an institution to develop the
required studies, this causes the youth or adult to affect their social
interaction as a citizen. When the person studies, he has another type of
behavior, thus having knowledge of the social problems that can favor or affect
him. the lack of education not only generates delinquency but also other social
problems such as drug trafficking and drug addiction.
The last cause that generates delinquency in the
Dominican Republic is the family values that the person acquires from their
upbringing. Although many do not believe it, this is one of the causes that I
consider most important, because since childhood they are taught things that
can be good or bad. In addition, parents have a great influence on the future
of their children, because if a child does something wrong and is not
corrected, he will continue doing it and that is where he can become a criminal.
In view of all this, what allows us to understand is how
we can convict crime because we already know the main causes. With greater
opportunities for employment, education and proper upbringing, there could be a
reduction in crime.
