                                  Choosing a Career Based on Passion or Money 

  Choosing a major for passion is to accept a discipline people have dedicated time and effort because they love it. Also, It does not matter if the pay is not enough they enjoy it because their passion is bigger than the ambitions. On the other hand, taking a specialization based on money means to make a decison over passion to have  better financial benefit. People make that decision and achieve their goals. There are several reasons for making decisions such as parents motivation and obligation, Social economic status (S.E.S.) and personal interest.

First, The motivation of the parents towards their children acts positively on the behavior of the children to carry out their tasks. This works in a way in which the children feel understood and have a better relationship with the family. Furthermore, This motivation helps young people to decide in which career they will specialize because they have the support of their parents. On the contraty, the parents obligation toward their children negatively influences since they do their tasks not out of enthusiasm or motivation, but out of a sense of duty. For example, parents tell them that they should study medicine because all of them study that major, or another motives, and children, fearing rejection by their parents or other reasons, are forced to study what their parents tell them without the right of choice.

Second, the social economic status (S.E.S) is the position of an individual or group on the socioeconomic scale, which is determined by a combination of social and economic factors such as income, amount and type of education, and prestige. One of the main problem why people choose a career based on money in Dominican Republic is due to the poverty. So, the principle purpose is to get a higher social estatus. However, According to an analysis made by the government there is an estimate of more than 300 thousand people living in poverty.Thus, everyone wants to increase the social economic status in this life.

Third, the personal interest is a key motivating factor for studying a profession. If the person is interested in fulfilling their dreams, it will be motivational and more pleasant. People would be eager to learn as well as develop relevant skills to work hard and persist through difficult challenges. These factors increase the chances of success in fulfilling dreams. The tension that people feel between the present situation, on the one hand, and the future situation that they want to achieve, on the other, is one of the key psychological elements that moves the human being, and also it is the code to achieve everything.

Finally, the parent's influence, social status, as well as personal interests make everyone understands the reasons for the decisions that Dominicans make. the future will depend on the decisions that each one makes. Whether it is for passion or for money, choose what you want. My advice is not to make hasty decisions or because your parents and friends tell you to. Create your own path because the future is in your hands.
